The Blue Poppy

In Poppies A two Z, the letter B wouldn't have to stand for the blue poppy which not only is sought after for some gardens that has even been a pattern placed on dishware because, of its beauty. There is three blue poppies and they are the M. Betonicifolia, also known as the Himalayan Blue Poppy, the M. Grandis, known as the Tibetan Blue and the M. Simplicifolia.

The blue poppy holds an attraction for many people who believe this is the most beautiful of the poppy family and that is the reason why the poppies have been placed on fine dishware, in paintings, puzzles and other items. This color of poppy has been the prize for many gardeners and because of that they have been enhanced as hybrids by gardening experts and can be found by gardeners to have in their yearly gardens.

This species of poppy is like many others, it will grow through most of the summer weather if it is located in an area where it is a cool and damp climate. In warm or hot climates it will die and in some cases may not return the following year. If it is grown in a warm or hot climate it must be planted in full shade and watered often to keep it from dying off, as the days get hot. This blue poppy is more apt to grow and thrive in climates where nights get as cold as zero degrees.
