The Sizes of Poppy Plants

There are many different types of poppies with approximately 200 different varieties and their sizes of sizes are as varied as the plants, with dwarf Poppies that reach an average of 10 inches in height and poppies that reach an average of 20 to 24 inches in height. There are also taller poppies that grow an average of 30 to 36 inches in height and end with each comes different colors and sizes of the blooms.

The Alpine poppy for example is a dwarf plant that has yellow, white and orange blossoms that reaches 10 inches in height and then there is the Black Cloud, which is a highly ornate poppy plant that doubled blooms. This is one of the larger poppies that can reach 36 inches in height, the colors of the Black Cloud is deep purple that can look almost as if it is black in color.

Another of these poppy plants is Hens an Chicks this reaches approximately 30 inches in height and is one of the most curious types of poppy plants as it is not a flower, rather it is pods that do not open. The Oase is another of the larger poppies reaching 36 inches in height and there is also the Pizzacato, which is one the most ornate of the poppy plants for gardeners, in colors of pink, rose, salmon, red and white in blooms of 6 to 8 inches wide and has heights of approximately 24 inches.
